ABOUT US
In the late 1870's my Great Grandfather, William Wallace Reed moved from Harmony, Maine to our current hometown near Lake Weir, Florida. His dream was to be a Florida Citrus Grower. In the early 1880's he began planting citrus trees which he had purchased from a citrus grower in Webster, Florida. Through the good and the bad, the Reed Family has been growing Florida Citrus continuously since 1882. Today we grow Florida Citrus both organically and conventionally. Our goal is to prodcue ALL of our citrus using organic, sustainable practices.
In 1988 we began Naturway Organic lawn service in Citrus County Florida.We provided groundskeeping services for Citrus County Parks and Recreation, and the Citrus County Libraries and Cemeteries. We also managed the common areas for three large developments and over one hundred private residences. We were very busy! During those early days using organic products we learned most problems we encountered were caused by the overuse of chemicals. We also learned once we began using the organic approach most problems became non-problems by building the health of the soil. We also learned that the soil had naturally been remediated.
With generations of experience in agriculture and our experience with organic, we began Reed Organic to provide Florida's agriculture industry with the best products to improve current growing conditions and to fight citrus greening.
